This Thursday (24th), three Brazilians went into action in the men’s Handball Champions League. Barcelona, owned by Haniel Langaro and Thiagus Petrus, drew 30-30 with THW Kiel from Germany. Dinamo Bucharest, led by João Pedro Silva, managed a 32-27 victory over Orlen Wisla Plock, from Poland.

Current champions of the tournament, Barcelona started better in the duel against THW Kiel and won by 18 to 14 at halftime. The German team grew in the second half, to close the gap and achieve a 30-30 tie. Swede Niclas Ekberg was the top scorer of the night, scoring nine goals for Kiel. On the Barcelona side, Timothey N’Guessan and Blaz Janc scored five each. The Brazilians Thiagus Petrus and Haniel Langaro went blank in the game.
Barcelona remain undefeated, with six wins and a draw, and are at the top of Group B with 13 points. THW Kiel is in fifth place with six points.
Dinamo Bucharest wins at home
In the capital of Romania, Dinamo Bucharest received the Poles from Orlen Wisla Plock. The first half was tight, with Dinamo going into the break with just one point ahead (15-14). In the second half, the hosts managed to break away on the scoreboard to confirm the victory by 32 to 27. Croatian Tin Lucin was the game’s top scorer with eight goals for Orlen Wisla Plock. The Serbian Lazar Kukic scored seven goals for Dinamo Bucaresti, while the Brazilian João Pedro da Silva did not score in the duel.
With the victory, Dinamo Bucaresti passed Orlen Wisla Plock and is in fifth place in group A of the Champions League with 7 points, against 5 of the Polish team. The leader of the group is Telekom Veszprém from Hungary.
