The German record champion THW Kiel fears the departure of his top star Sander Sagosen, who was only signed up a year ago.
He’s still cheering for THW Kiel: Sander Sagosen could leave the record champions.
The 26-year-old Norwegian apparently has the option to return to his home club Kolstad Handball, which wants to build the best team in the country with an ambitious project.
“The probability dwindles from day to day when he does not accept our offer,” admitted THW managing director Viktor Szilagyi in a “Sky” interview. Sagosen is apparently “under a lot of pressure”, since the Kolstad handball project will stand and fall with its return. “He’s a young player and now he has to decide for himself and his future where he is best placed and where he wants to go,” said Szilagyi.
We are actually finished, the offer has been with him for a long time.
The Kiel had signed the backcourt player of world-class format only a year ago from the French Croesus Paris Saint-Germain. His contract with the German record champions is still valid until 2023, the THW would love to extend it.
“We are actually finished, the offer has been with him for a long time,” confirmed Szilagyi. “We talked to him about it very early on because the collaboration was planned for a long time. We would love to have him with us and he knows that too.”
