Poll: 67% of French people for a third dose of vaccine for all

The French are broadly in favor of prescribing a third dose of Covid-19 vaccine for the entire population. They are indeed 67% to declare themselves for such a measure, according to an exclusive CSA poll for CNEWS.

At a time when the government is seriously considering the issue to stem the strong epidemic resumption, respondents are even 40% to vote “totally for”, a figure greater than all those opposed to the idea ( 33%). What to allow, perhaps, to encourage the executive to take the plunge, before the official announcements that will dictate Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health, this Thursday.

The only category of respondents deciding in majority against a third dose for all is the age group of 18-24 years (at 55%). Conversely, the most favorable are the 65 years and over (78%), who are the only ones for whom the recall is obligatory for the moment, because considered as the most at risk in the event of contamination. It should be noted that the share of “for” increases according to the age of the respondents.

Regarding the political sensitivity of those polled, more people claiming to be on the left are for the third dose for all, compared to those claiming to be on the right (77% against 64%). The least favorable are those close to far-right ideas and La France insoumise (56% and 61%).

The most favorable to the measure are those polled describing themselves as centrists or close to La République en Marche, with 89% of “for”.
