Works in El Campestre and Las Rosas are pending in La Laguna

The Secretary of Communications and Public Works of the State of Durango (Secope) in La Laguna assured that no later than August 14, all the paperwork corresponding to the paving and hydrosanitary works of the El Campestre and Las Rosas neighborhoods must be delivered in Durango . There have been many setbacks in the paving works “it has been our headache and yes there were delays” said the person in charge of the Secope regional office, Alfredo Alarcón.

It was in March of this year when around 200 inhabitants of these neighborhoods complained because they saw no progress in the work: “Yes, there has been a delay, but practically all the works are finished, we only bring 4 that we are missing. It is also fair point out that those streets had not been paved for many years, we would have liked to finish earlier,” said Alarcón.

The hydraulic works began in August 2021 and were supposed to finish in about 45 days, but that was not the case, and they were still like this in May of this year. The reason for the delay was the hydraulic works, in addition to the fact that there were no workers in the areas, which is why neighbors complained months ago that it seemed like a war zone.

The state government had promised to deliver said work at the end of April, beginning of May, after pressure from the neighbors, who even blocked the Miguel Alemán boulevard months ago.

“Several things happened. We had a project change in terms of drainage, because originally it was going to be done under the cracking system, which was easier because there was no need to dig, as it finally had to be done in the open, which causes many problems due to the instability of the soil,” said Alarcón.

Cracking is the technique of renovating pipes without a trench, which consists of underground replacement using the existing pipes as a guide for the new installation, avoiding large earth movements, minimizing the rupture of pavements and without interrupting traffic.

In this way, two open pit perforations would have been made in the corners, that is, entrance and exit, but it could not be done due to the ground levels, since it is not possible to work at a depth of less than 60 centimeters, explained the authority. .

In Las Rosas, the only pending work that is still in process is the extension of Madero street: “The paving can be completed in two days as long as the resource is filed in a timely manner,” said Alarcón. In the case of the El Campestre neighborhood, the streets Stockholm, Marsella and Verna are in process.

It is a resource of almost 25 million pesos which is invested in both neighborhoods, where 23 streets were worked on.
