This week we will have Health Minister Begoña Oyarzo in the region. Her visit is not one more, because we have been talking with her for months about the different projects that are underway, but for different reasons they do not advance with the fluidity that we all want.
In the case of the “High Resolution Emergency Service” device of the Futrono commune, we took a step forward, because the tender is underway. This is a substantial step for the inhabitants of the commune that does not have a hospital establishment that can absorb the emergency demands, and whose neighbors witnessed announcements that they were staying only with good intentions.
Another positive news is the construction of a modular office in the commune of La Unión. Although the hospital is still an outstanding debt, together with the unions of officials, we managed to build an office for medical specialties, which will reinforce the attention of the Juan Morey Hospital. The module will be installed on land provided by the municipality, and it is a good way to alleviate the problems of space and attention that the hospital complex has.
I thank the ministerial authority who understood the problem we are experiencing in the Province of Ranco. The project, close to $3,100 million pesos, will be a great advance because it will be a space for consultations for all types of medical specialties, which will reduce waiting lists and improve the quality of life of families.
As for the “High Resolution Emergency Service” of Panguipulli, which caused so many headaches, due to the constant postponements it suffered, today it is in a trial run for its next inauguration and opening to the community.
We hope that the same thing will happen soon with the “Valdivia External Clinic” that finally began the public bidding process to finish its construction, which with the passage of time is still waiting to open its doors and provide the service for which it was proposed to the neighbors.
Health is a right that I will defend at all events. You can always count on me because I understand that the difference between life and death is given by a dignified and timely care.
Senator of the Republic
