Argentine sailors Maximo Videla and Tadeo Funes from Rioja champions of the World Class 29er in Barcelona, Spain.
The national duo, who just won the title in the 29er class at the 51st Junior World Championships that took place last month in The Hague, the Netherlands, once again had an excellent performance at the Balis Yacht Club and once again reached the highest on the podium.
In the competition, Videla and Funes de Rioja finished with 93 points.
The podium was completed with the Italians Alex Demurtas and Giovanni Santi in second place and the French Hugo Revil and Karl Devaux in third.
The Mar del Plata duo composed of Guido and Victoria Van Avermaete (YCA) was ranked ninth in the Gold Fleet standings and second in the mixed standings.
For his part, Juan Ignacio Queirel and Juan Cruz Albamonte (Club Náutico San Isidro) finished in eighth position.
Further back in the standings are Felipe Cosentino – Juls Pantin (YCA) in 28th place and José Rother – Franz Menzel (YCA) in 31st.
The 29er World Championship was attended by 242 helmsmen and crew members from different countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania and the American continent.
