The employment rate marked the best quarter since 2016

The unemployment rate remained at 7% in the first quarter of 2022, the lowest level since 2015, the official statistics agency reported on Thursday. Secondly, the employment rate marked the best quarter since 2016 by reaching 43.3% of the population.

“In the year-on-year comparison, the employment rate showed a growth of 1.7 percentage points. While in the quarterly dynamics it showed a slight drop of 0.3 percentage points. Anyway, the first quarters of the year due to seasonal reasons they tend to show the lowest employment rates“, indicated the INDEC.

As for the population that has a job, this figure rises to 12.6 million. Of which 73.5% are salaried, about 9.2 million citizens. The employed population is divided into: 53.2% underemployed, 26.8% overemployed, 10.8% full and 10.2% did not work during the week.

Of the total employed, 3.3 million do not have a retirement discount, while 5.9 million do. In turn, 26.5% of the total are non-salaried, some 3.3 million citizens. As for the unemployed, in the first quarter, remained at 900,000 people who actively seek work and do not get itaccording to public Ambit.

“The unemployed experienced a positive dynamic showing a decrease of 3.2 percentage points, reaching the lowest level since the beginning of the series in 2016. For its part, in quarterly terms, the level of the fourth quarter of 2021 was maintained“.
