After three and a half years of work, the collegiate church of Eu (Seine Maritime) is now out of water. Sophie Togni-Devillers, head of the heritage and archives department of the town of Eu, geographer and historian by training, has followed the restoration project from the preliminary study to the present day.

For their next conference, the Friends of Old Eu offer you an appointment on the theme of the restoration of the Collegiate Notre-Dame and Saint-Laurent of Eu, titled Story of a rebirth.

During the conference, she will return to the history of this remarkable work, from the project to the reception of the works: the work of the companions, the surprises and the difficulties encountered, the crafts implemented to restore and safeguard this centuries-old building.

A book in March 2023

This meeting will also be an opportunity to launch subscriptions for a book bearing the same title as the conference, which is scheduled for release next March. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the eudoise association PHAVE (Historical and Artistic Heritage of the City of Eu) which works to preserve the eudois heritage.

Practical information: Friday November 25, 2022, at 7 p.m., at the Théâtre du Château, place Isabelle d’Orléans-Bragance in Eu. Free entry.
