He was then dragged onto the tracks as the train pulled away from the station, so a second train hit him.

In accordance with NBCnews, the incident occurred around 11:53 pm on Wednesday. Bryant was transported to Maimonides Medical Center and passed away earlier today.

It is unclear how the man got caught

Richard Davey, president of New York City Transit, has disputed the police account. He said it’s still unclear how Bryant could have been trapped between the train and the platform.

This was not an incident with the door,” he said at a news conference.
