Man offers public apology for assaulting two Torreón Transit and Road agents

A man was arrested early this Saturday, May 14, after beating two elements of the Traffic and Roads Directorate.

The events occurred when two road agents, a man and a woman, stopped a driver of a white Pick-up truck on Independencia and Monaco boulevards. The driver was behind the wheel using his cell phone, he stopped until he advanced to Madrid and Mónaco avenue, in the San Isidro neighborhood, where when he got out of the vehicle, he attacked the traffic officers, who asked for support from a Public Safety Unit.

The detainee, identified as Jaime Benjamin “N”, was prosecuted for the crime of injuries before the Public Ministry.

However, an alternative measure was reached, which consists of full compensation for medical expenses, as well as a public apology.

The General Directorate of Roads and Mobility of Torreón, pointed out that the institution ensures the integrity of its elements and legally defends personnel against physical or verbal aggression, weighing order and respect, prioritizing reason and dialogue at the time to apply the Municipal Mobility regulation.
