López-Dóriga points out that AMLO is not there to protect criminals but to apply the law to them

MEXICO CITY.- The communicator Joaquin Lopez-Doriga pointed out that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is not there to protect criminals after the president reiterated during his conference in Nuevo León that in his government both members of the armed forces and members of gangs are protectedbecause they are human beings.

I insist that the President of the Republic is not here to protect the members of criminal gangs, he is here to apply the law to them,” López-Dóriga said in a video posted on his social networks.

He added that by asking for the law to be applied, it does not mean that he is in favor of their dying or being killed, since he considers that is the complete opposite extreme of protecting them.

“It’s not about killing them, it’s about not protecting them (criminals). In no way can a president protect a criminal, no matter how he looks, how he interprets it,” said the contributor to Radio Formula.

Finally, he commented that the government “has to protect society, all Mexicans, also members of the armed forces,” after mentioning that 120,000 homicides have been committed from 2018 to date.
