the Laval stadium surely deserved better during this 2nd day of Ligue 2 but the men ofOlivier Frapolli lacked realism against the Guingampais (1-2).

Guingampais who have surely already scored the most beautiful of the season. It is the work of Jeremy Livolant author of a volley more than 40 meters from goal (1-2, 76′).

The evening had however started well for the Tango. Anthony Goncalvesperfectly served at the far post by Julien Maggiottiopened the scoring in the fifth minute of play. A dream return to the Francis Le Basser stadium for the former Caennais.

Many occasions, the bar for Baudry

At the final whistle, the Tango can bite their fingers for not having further concretized their opportunities. Because opportunities, they had, much more than against Bastia last week. Geoffray Durbant header failed to fit (26′). Ten minutes later, his recovery was slammed for a corner by Basilio (37′).

Mounted at the forefront, Marvin Baudry touched him the crossbar after a good construction with Durbant and Zakaria (29′).

Yasser Balde was very close to equalizing in front of a sold-out stadium – 8,613 spectators – but Basilio was decisive (87′).

“It’s a sleepless night, I blame myself. I have to mark it, put it where it comes from. I’m all alone, I have to punish”

The reactions

Olivier Frapolli (Stade Laval coach): “We are obviously disappointed. We had a very, very good first half. We put a lot of energy into it. We may have left a little too much fuel in the first period. They have two shots, two goals. We know that we are in a division where we have to be efficient. We have sometimes seen good sequences but we have to punish. The equalization reboosted us, a little awake. Today, you had to play against a great team that confiscated the ball. Ultimately, one goal is not enough for us.

Stéphane Dumont (Guingamp trainer): “We were put off entering. It hurts my head a bit. In this 1st period, we were at a somewhat odd pace. They could even have doubled the lead in the first half. We are rewarded with a nice equalizer. It is not insignificant. We must underline the strength of the team. It was a great team up front. We never panicked. »

Yasser Balde (Stade Laval defender): “It’s very infuriating. I am convinced that we showed some great things. We take this fantastic goal, we can do better just before but I call it a stroke of genius. Congratulations to Guingamp who was more realistic. On the very few occasions they had, they sanctioned us. We are promoted, we have to raise the cursor every game. Even being thorough, we were not rewarded. You can’t afford to be average. What just happened will be a blessing in disguise. »

Sam Sanna (midfielder of Stade Laval): “I felt good, it’s nice to play at home in a full stadium with lots of excitement. You have to be clear, they managed their weak times better. We will learn from our mistakes, there are many reasons for satisfaction. »
