Gunman kills 10 people in a New York supermarket while broadcasting live on twitch

An armed man opened fire on several people in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, while broadcasting live on the Twitch platform, in an event that has left 10 dead.

Buffalo police responded to the scene of a “multiple shooting event at Tops Markets on Jefferson Street,” according to a tweet from Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.

Although eight were initially reported dead, the figure was later raised to 10, including a recently retired police officer who worked security at the store. There is no official report on the number of injured.

“It’s like walking into a horror movie, but it’s all real,” a police officer at the scene said.

The subject, who is secured by the Police, was broadcasting on the interactive live streaming service known as Twicth, and before starting his action he had published an online manifesto in which he described himself as a white supremacist.
