The general director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zoé Alejandro Robledo Aburto recognized this Friday the outstanding career of Ana Iracema Ramos Sánchez who for almost four years he served as head of the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) No. 71 of the city of Torreón.
During his visit to Torreón for the start of the Safe and Healthy Work Environments Program (ELSSA) in Coahuila, the federal official said that in the various visits he made to this entity during the Covid-19 pandemic, the IMSS worked in unity with the State Secretary of Health and that one of the key people was Dr. Ana Iracema.
“One of the key people for this teamwork is retiring today, she is Dr. Ana Iracema Ramos Sánchez, director of the High Specialty Medical Unit, the 71st as we all know her and who is here with us. I thought it was time for the whole society to recognize it and not just Social Security, Dr. Iracema, thank you very much,” she said. Robledo Aburto invited her to go to the presidium and she did so to applause while she received recognition for her years of service.
In June 2018, the Technical Council and the then general director of the IMSS, Tuffic Miguel Ortega, approved the appointment of Ramos Sánchez as director of UMAE No 71.
Ana Iracema Ramos Sánchez has a specialty in Medical Pediatrics and graduated as a surgeon from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Coahuila (UA de C). She later did a subspecialty in Neonatology endorsed by the National Medical Center of Monterrey, Nuevo León.
In his career, the head of the coordination of Education and Research at the Hospital General de Zona (HGZ) No. 18 stands out, for then go to the Pediatric Intensive Care Headquarters and to the clinical coordination of UMAE No. 71, for two and a half years in the evening shift in the latter.
With her retirement, Dr. Guadalupe Villa will be in charge, this in which the Technical Council evaluates the person who will occupy the general direction of the Hospital of Specialties.
