Fans Think The Boys Star Karl Urban Would Be Perfect To Play Wolverine

If we asked you to think of a superhero or comic book character that we would describe as hairy, muscular and mean, would you immediately think of Wolverine?

Well, in this case we’re talking about The boys’ Karl Urban.

But you wouldn’t be the only one to notice the similarities between Urban’s character on Amazon’s hit show, Billy Butcher, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

A viral tweet saw many expressing their support for the Kiwi actor to take on the iconic role.

In fact, Urban is on Reddit’s cast wishlist to portray the character on the big or small screen now that Jackman has snagged Wolverine’s adamantium claws for the final time.

It was Stuart Heritage of the Guardian who broke the news to Urban.

” I say [Urban] this is a place where if you search for Karl Urban you will find hundreds of cropped photos of his face on Wolverine’s body,” Heritage wrote following a recent interview with the star of The boys.

And Urban’s response? He burst out laughing.

“It’s flattering, but you have to think about it rationally,” Urban said. “What am I, two years younger than Hugh Jackman? »

Urban is actually four years younger than Jackman, but that’s neither here nor there.

“I mean, if I was a studio looking to cast someone as Wolverine, I’d cast someone I’d shoot three movies from,” Urban said.

“You’re not going to get three Karl Urban movies unless you want a 65-year-old Wolverine. »

Boo. Well, that puts this fantastic cast of fans to bed.

That being said, the comics feature an “Old Man Logan” version of the Wolverine character, so we won’t write Urban purely on age.

Some wondered if Urban’s height would also be an issue.

Wolverine is said to be 5’3, and with Ubran coming in at 6’1, he may be too tall.

Then again, Jackman comes in at a measly 6’3, so apparently the barrel doesn’t get in the way this a lot.

However, a short king has already been suggested for the gig and you’ll definitely know him from another massive movie impression franchise.

Radcliffe comes in at 5’5, much closer to Wolverine’s character height and was asked if he would like to.

“I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me,” he said. “But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.

Talk about dream casting, right there.
