Batista arrived in San Roque on Thursday morning and held a meeting with Mayor Raúl Rulo Hadad and municipal management officials. Later, he went to the Youth Recreation Center where he met dozens of children, youth and parents who came to greet him.
Before the youth, Batista taught techniques to learn to play soccer with a professional style, with the objective that the teams of the San Roque neighborhoods can include these learnings in local practices.
“In addition to training and playing soccer, you have to go to school every day and study and listen to the advice of parents for a good education and health in everyone’s growth,” said Batista.
The world champion received great praise from San Roque from children and young people from different neighborhood teams that permanently participate in tournaments to promote local soccer.
Mayor Hadad highlighted Batista’s presence when he stated that “in addition to being a world champion, he is a person of great humility who showed the commitment to share his knowledge with our youth.”
Rulo Hadad added that the presence of the idol was due to the public policy of sports development carried out by the municipal government for the good of the people of San Roque. “Sport is a fundamental value in our management,” said the community chief.
Batista, who was champion in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, was in San Roque due to Rulo Hadad’s management with the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY), which promotes these activities of sports clinics in municipalities of the region.
