Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero will travel to New York, United States, together with pro-government and opposition legislators to participate in a series of meetings of the United Nations Organization.
There he will make a claim before the Decolonization Committee and will request the resumption of negotiations with the United Kingdom to find a peaceful and definitive solution to the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas Islands and surroundings.
Cafiero will arrive in the northern country on Wednesday, June 22, and on Thursday, June 23 at 11 a.m. (Argentine time), he will make his presentation at the organization’s meeting. According to Télam, he will also attend a discussion at the Council of the Americas.
The delegation that will accompany him will be made up of, among others, senators Adolfo Rodríguez Saá (San Luis Justicialist Unity Front), María Eugenia Duré (All Front-Tierra del Fuego) and Pablo Blanco (Together for Change-TdF).
Also the deputies Alberto Asseff (PRO-Buenos Aires), Rosana Bertone (FdT-TdF), Federico Frigerio (PRO-TdF); Aldo Leiva (FdT-Chaco); Roxana Reyes (UCR-Santa Cruz) and Eduardo Valdés (FdT-CABA).
