The Conmebol Court of Appeals confirmed that the only pending match of the last South American Qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup, which was suspended a year ago between the Brazilian and Argentine teams, at the Neo Química Arena (former Arena Corinthians), It will be completed on that same stage, on Thursday, September 22, from 4:00 p.m.
That meeting was suspended on September 5 of last year five minutes into the first half, when the local health agency, Anvisa, through an official, interrupted the development of the match for issues related to the prevention of the coronarivus pandemic.
But despite having finished the South American Qualifiers a long time ago, Conmebol announced on February 14 that the match should be played in its entirety, on September 22, without announcing on that occasion the scenario in which it should take place.
Given this and considering that the points should be owned by Argentina because it was the victim in question, the AFA made claims to FIFA that were initially ignored, so the president, Claudio Tapia, signed the matter to the TAS.
But Conmebol confirmed that the match will be played in the same original stage of the dispute.
