After the June hail, €145,000 released by the State for farmers in Sud-Yvelines

Ravaged fields a few weeks before harvest, flooded roads, impassable land and cereal growers overwhelmed. This was the state of mind that reigned in Sud-Yvelines, between Prunay-en-Yvelines, Sonchamp and Ablis (Yvelines).

Such a scourge due to the climate that the Minister of Agriculture came in person to Prunay-en-Yvelines to the Presles farm which was at the heart of the cyclone of hail.

Today, MP Aurore Bergépresident of the Renaissance group in parliament, announced aid has been released: €145,000 in hail emergency aid for farmers in southern Yvelines.
“On June 4, a hailstorm of unprecedented intensity fell in southern Yvelines, causing the destruction of almost all crops between Ablis and Rambouillet.
“I immediately went to the site to see the damage, provide all my support to the farmers concerned and mobilize the State services for the implementation of dedicated support measures” specifies Aurore Berge.

The Minister had come to listen to the farmers

In view of the extent of the losses recorded, Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture then went on site to discuss with all the operators concerned. Strong commitments have been made:
– Creation of an emergency fund to provide a rapid response to impacted farms,
– CAP aid provided for climatic hazards,
– Support for the reconstruction of agricultural buildings by mobilizing in particular the construction sector,
– Acceleration of compensation by insurers.
Promises kept:
– an “emergency hail aid” of €145,000 has been created and has already been paid to the 28 South Yvelinois farmers concerned!
– Insurance compensation paid!

Painful episode

“Thanks to the unfailing mobilization and support of the State and the agricultural sector, I am happy that this exceptional aid of €145,000 has enabled our farmers and their families to recover from this painful episode” specifies Aurore Bergé. .
