Most successful Netflix series in the US?

Arcane (c) Netflix

Arcane, the animated prequel series for the League of Legends gaming franchise, is apparently breaking records on Netflix. According to an independent analyst firm, no other streaming article is currently more successful in the US.

The early extension can apparently not only be explained by cheering reviews, but also by strong audience figures. According to Deadline was the animated series that was used as a prequel to the gaming franchise “League of Legends“Is the biggest streaming hit in the USA between November 13th and 19th. This is shown by data from the independent analyst company Parrot Analytics, which is allowed to monitor and evaluate the viewing pleasure of a group of subscribers that is as representative as possible. The platform itself recently announced official data: 38.42 million hours are said to have been streamed by the successful format (we reported).

In the graphic (see below), it is particularly interesting to see which series Arcane was able to compete with during the survey period. For example, Stranger Things (also Netflix) and The Mandalorian (Disney +) landed just behind in second and third place, although there has been no fresh material on offer for a long time. It is also surprising that Ted Lasso (Apple TV +) follows in fourth place, because Apple is more of a smaller provider in the VoD business. The big fall hit Squid Game is in sixth place, followed by You.

In a global comparison, according to Parrot Analytics, Arcane only ranks third on the streaming charts. At the top is The Wheel of Time (Amazon Prime Video). Strangely enough, silver goes to Game of Thrones (HBO). Incidentally, the success numbers are not given in absolute numbers or quotas, but in factors. The value 46.6X means that Arcane was streamed 46.6 times more often than the average of all streaming series.

Another point from the Parrot report: The demand for Arcane increased from the start of series production on November 6th to the end of the survey on November 21st by a whopping 629 percent worldwide and 228 percent in America. Said reviews and word of mouth are likely to be responsible for the increase. Netflix itself is probably also keeping a close eye on how well the extraordinary publishing model used for the series is working. Instead of uploading the whole season as a complete package, it was decided to present three new episodes every Saturday.
