“Great anticipation for the game,” Meyer said on Friday, but the match against Türkgücü scheduled for Saturday was canceled, as the club announced. Munich, one point behind Halle in the first non-relegation place, cannot compete due to corona.

“The game management of the German Football Association thus complied with a request from Munich based on paragraph 15 of the implementation regulations. Due to several corona cases and the resulting quarantine instructions, there are fewer than 16 ready-to-use players available to Türkgücü,” said the HFC.

“For us as a club, for the fans and the team, the cancellation is regrettable. The team and coach were extremely excited about the restart, were focused and highly motivated. But of course, the focus is on health. We wish Türkgücü all the best.” said sporting director Ralf Minge.
