The above figures indicate that In the last 24 hours, 7,187 more infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus were accumulated, as well as 546 deaths, based on the data provided by the agency.
It should be noted that of the 282 thousand 773 deaths reported by COVID-19, 13 thousand 424 of them were reported as suspicious; that is, they include deaths pending confirmation by laboratory and those that are in the process of epidemiological judgment.
Secondly, there is a record of 526 thousand 929 suspected infections, while the existence of 39 thousand 472 active cases is estimated, which correspond to those who started symptoms in the last 14 days and can still transmit the virus.
Meanwhile, the agency reported that the 10 entities that accumulate the highest number of COVID-19 cases are Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, Puebla, Veracruz, Sonora and San Luis Potosí, which together make up more than two thirds (66%) of all accumulated cases registered in the country.
Based on the Johns Hopkins University global count, Mexico is the fourth country with the most deaths from COVID-19. India is in third place; Brazil, in second, and the United States remains in first position in deaths from SARS-CoV-2.
National vaccination strategy
The undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, reported that for 10 consecutive weeks the intensity of the third wave of the epidemic in the country has been reduced and that as of October 11, 107 million 921 have been supplied 1,674 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
