The town of Salvador Mazza, General José de San Martín department, made national news when it became known that 18 raids were carried out in the municipality, including the house of mayor Rubén Méndez.

Based on a complaint made via the web, different organizations began to investigate it and carried out a mega operation in which the CIF, the Airport Security Police, the Federal Police and different forces in the region worked.
The prosecutor, Ana Inés Salinas, is carrying out the case and in dialogue with TN, she commented that the Complex Economic Crimes Unit intervened on September 2 from a complaint presented to the attorney. In this, a very striking patrimony was denounced by the mayor and his relatives.
For this reason, 18 raids were carried out in the municipality and the homes of different people close to the public official. So far there are 12 people charged with nine criminal acts, including Rubén Méndez, the mayor.
During the different procedures, cash was seized, both in pesos and in dollars and euros, high-end imported cars and even firearms. According to the prosecutor, The sum is not defined but for her only the cash exceeds the figure mentioned by the journalist, 56 million pesos.
