Mayor of Torreón expects respect for workers before change of government

The mayor, Jorge Zermeño Infante, said that the trusted personnel of the current Torreón Town Hall He will stop working in the administration when his term ends at the end of the year, but he considered that the labor rights of the rest of the workers must be respected.

“The trusted employees, especially directors and deputy directors, we are leaving, in that there is no doubt, I did not arrive with a broom running to the staff in the municipal presidency, there are many people who are restless because they do not know what will happen to them tomorrow, “he said.

“I hope that labor rights are respected, I did not go around asking them if they were from PRI or they were from the PAN or they were from Morena, What’s more, I can tell you that the vast majority of those who work in the municipal presidency are not people who are active in my party, “said the mayor.

He said that the issue has already been discussed with the mayor-elect, Roman Alberto Cepeda González, to whom he offered that the trusted personnel who entered with his administration, both directors and deputy directors, retire at the end of this year with their corresponding resignations.

However, with regard to the rest of the workers, he indicated that “I hope that we respect labor rights, they are people who need to work and that in some way, they are covering a responsibility.”

Zermeño Infante acknowledged that throughout the four years in the Torreón mayor’s office, many labor lawsuits inherited from previous administrations, for which he considered that they are not new situations or typical of this government.
