Man dies in hospital after being run over in Gómez Palacio

After spending 13 days in the hospital, a sixty-year-old finally lost his life when he was run over by a hit-and-run vehicle in the municipality of Gómez Palacio.

The deceased today was identified as José Ángel Rosales Saavedra, 65 years old, who had his home in the Héctor Mayagoitia neighborhood of this city.

The death occurred on Thursday night at the facilities of Clinic 46 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).


The accident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 1 of the current year on José Rebollo Acosta Boulevard, at the height of Doctor Nicasio Chavez Street in the neighborhood where the deceased lived today.

Security sources reported that the man was run over by a vehicle that left the scene after the events.

It is a Ford truck, Windstar line, cherry color, of which major characteristics are unknown, as well as the identity of its driver.

Various rescue and security corporations of the city were mobilized to the site to attend to the emergency.

The man was rushed to the facilities of Clinic 16 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), where despite the efforts of the doctors, he finally lost his life days later.


The Investigative Agent of the Public Ministry, assigned to the homicide area, was in charge of taking knowledge of the death.

The body was sent to the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service for the necropsy of law, which will reveal the specific causes of death.

The Deputy Attorney General of the State of Durango, Laguna Region, has already opened a file in this regard and began the first inquiries to try to find the person responsible for the events.
