The prominent Cuban group Los Van Van premiered the official lyric video for the song “Who hasn’t told a lie?”, Which they recorded together with the popular Puerto Rican musician Gilberto Santa Rosa.
The song -which belongs to the most recent album of the orchestra “Mi songo” – maintains the typical sound of Los Van Van, which has made it the creditor of a success that exceeds five decades and adds the talent and good work of the Puerto Rican salsa singer. .
The lyric video -recreated with avatars of the musicians- weaves a story around the love affair that the song narrates, which motivates a man to apologize to a woman after having told a lie.
The album “Mi songo”, where the theme appears, takes a tour of a dozen emblematic songs of the orchestra, performed with new arrangements and in the company of guest performers for the occasion.
Among the titles covered by the orchestra along with other renowned musicians are successes from the history of Vanva, such as “El buey cansao”, now recorded with Telmary Díaz; “Azúcar” with the Micha; “Anda, ven y muévete”, with César López, and “Sandunguera”, in which they had the collaboration of the American trombonist of Latin origin, Jimmy Bosch.
“Mi songo” is the album with which Los Van Van celebrated the 50 years of the orchestra and a gift for the dancers who have been loyal fans of the group for half a century now.
The album is also a tribute to the founder of the orchestra, Juan Formell, who died in 2014, who knew how to maintain the soul of the group and leave a valuable legacy to Cuban culture.
Puerto Rican Gilberto Santa Rosa has collaborated with other great artists of Cuban popular music in recent decades, including Adalberto Álvarez, recently deceased, with whom he was united by a great friendship.
