The objection of the ex-functionary Ricardo Teixeira brought nothing. The CAS rejected this on Tuesday, meaning that the 74-year-old is no longer allowed to play a role in football.

The International Court of Justice for Sports (CAS) has rejected the former Brazilian official Teixeira’s appeal against his lifelong ban. The punishment imposed by FIFA in 2019 was appropriate, among other things, in view of the “extremely high sums of bribes,” the statement said.

In November 2019, the FIFA Ethics Committee banned the former president of the Brazilian association CBF for life for opaque transactions and the resulting bribery payments and sentenced him to a fine of one million Swiss francs, the equivalent of 950,000 euros.

According to investigations, Teixeira, the all-powerful CBF boss from 1989 to 2012, received unauthorized hand money for the award of media and marketing rights to his association and continental Conmebol competitions. Teixeira denies own offenses.
