The weekend in Losail was not an easy weekend for Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque in fact had to undergo the replacement of the chassis on his SF21, as the one with whom he competed in qualifying took a blow – most likely due to a passage on the curbs – which forced the Cavallino team to change with another. An unexpected event which, however, as the Maranello standard bearer himself pointed out, did not affect his performance.
“No, no, I didn’t have any problems once I knew the frame was changed – said Leclerc, quoted by GPFans – Normally it’s not a thing where you make a lot of difference if you mount another frame”.
Mattia Binotto is also interviewed on the chassis issue, with the Ferrari team principal who assured how the component will be repaired and that it will be used in case of need.
“The frame will definitely be repaired – said Binotto – When we found out there was no time to fix it. The one we fitted to the car was of the same specification, so I don’t think there is a preference between the two. The one that will be repaired will most likely be the spare one for the rest of the season”.
