Launch of the Christmas lights: Le Mans goes from darkness to light

Top start for the Christmas lights. It was 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 25, 2021 when Stephane Le Foll, Mayor of Le Mans (Sarthe), lit up his own city from the Place Saint-Nicolas.

It is by simply pressing a tablet that the elected Manceau illuminated the streets of his city.


A thrilled crowd

Immediately, the crowd which had gathered for this occasion exclaims.

“It’s magic”, we can understand by this; “Incredible”, one marvels by it.

A warm and festive atmosphere

Thanks to the garlands that have been mounted in the streets, they are illuminated. Ten minutes earlier, it was a dull, cold feeling that reigned in the streets.

Now there is a warm and festive atmosphere.

You can even hear adults and children laughing peacefully.

In total, this evening of Thursday, November 25, 82 trees and firs were illuminated in 115 street crossings.

972 LED garlands had been installed previously.

The city of Le Mans illuminated for more than a month

The city of Le Mans will be illuminated from Thursday 25 November 2021 to Sunday 2 January 2022, every day from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Small exception: from Friday 24 to Friday 31 December, the city will be illuminated from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Participation of four companies in this illumination

The company Leblanc illuminations took care of the rental of all the light decorations.

ERS Maine, GARCZYNSKI TRAPLOIR CITEOS and SPIE CityNetworks, three other companies, posed these decorations in the city of Mancelle.
