Justified: City Primeval – Timothy Olyphant returns in sequel series

Marshal Raylan Givens will once again deliver lead justice. As the US cable broadcaster FX announced, there will be a sequel titled Justified: City Primeval, for which Timothy Olyphant will also return to his legendary role.

The Limited Series is titled Justified: City Primeval and is based on Elmore Leonard’s crime novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit“. Timothy Olyphant puts on his good old Stetson cowboy hat again, because he returns as Marshal Raylan Givens to once again ensure uncompromising justice as the main character.

In „Justified: City Primeval‘ we find Raylan back in Miami, heading to Harlan County in the finale of ‘Justified“ left. There he balances his life as US Marshal and father of his now 14-year-old daughter Winona. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier and the path ahead of him is suddenly much shorter than the distance he has already covered. But soon this path leads him into the middle of the hustle and bustle of Detroit’s Motor City.

A chance encounter on a deserted highway leads him to follow the path of Clement Mansell, aka “The Oklahoma Wildman‘, crosses – a violent, sociopathic outlaw who has slipped through the cracks of the Detroit police on numerous occasions. His attorney, Detroit native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of defending her client and finds herself caught between the cops and the criminals while playing her own game. These three characters find themselves on a collision course in typical Elmore Leonard fashion, with one never knowing exactly who will get out of town alive…

Homicide Detective Raymond Cruz is actually the protagonist of the source material, and Raylan looks set to supplant that character. At the time, Dave Andron and Michael Dinner were executive producers on “Justified‘, this time they’re also taking on the posts of showrunner and writers together. “JustifiedIn return, showrunner Graham Yost is serving as executive producer.
