The Minister of Tourism and Sports Mario Pena participated in the Board meeting of Inprotur Saltatogether with its president Manuela Aracibia, in which framework the international planning for 2022. Promotion strategies for the priority regional markets and for the European ones were analysed.
“Analyzing numbers from the beginning of the year, we can estimate that today 10% of tourism who visits us is international. It’s a good recovery symptom”, Minister Peña pointed out, linking this situation with the work that was carried out in November and December of face-to-face promotion in Montevideo, Asunción, Foz Do Iguazú and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
He stressed that the political decision of the governor Gustavo Saenz Recovering and exceeding levels of activity prior to the pandemic is key because Salta is one of the main provinces in Argentina that receives international tourists.

“We believe that in October and November of this year, coinciding with the high season from Europe to South America, vwe will be an increase in international tourists, a situation that will allow us to achieve the goal of recover between 400 and 500 thousand tourists foreigners,” said the provincial official.
The president of the Chamber of Tourism of Salta, Gustavo Di Mécola, He highlighted the importance of having a joint presence in international markets “because that affects more foreign tourists and the activity of the private sector, which is one of the great generators of employment in northern Argentina.”
The Secretary of Culture and Tourism of the city of Salta also participated in the meeting, Fernando Garcia Soria the executive director of Inprotur Salta, Maria Eugenia Cornejo and representatives of the private sector.
