With the integrated iMovie tool you will have no problem converting MOV files to MP4.
Paso 1– Launch iMovie, the proprietary video editing software that comes with your Mac (if you don’t have it, you can download it for free from the App Store). If the application is not already hosted on your dock, click the icon of the Finder, Choose Applications in the left panel and then iMovie from the resulting list. Once open, click on the menu File in the application toolbar and select New movie in the drop down menu.
Paso 2: click the big button Import Media.
Paso 3– This will open the media browser. Click the file you want to convert, then click Import Selected in the lower right corner.
Paso 4– Once the file is imported, click on it and a yellow border will appear around it. Then, click the File menu on the application toolbar and select Share in the resulting drop-down menu, then click File.
Paso 5– Adjust the export settings if desired, then click Next.
Paso 6– Choose a name for the file and where you want to save it, then click Keep. You can see the progress of the export as a small circle in the upper right corner of iMovie; When it’s done, you’ll see a desktop notification. Your MOV file has now been converted to MP4.

If you are using a non-Mac device such as a Windows computer, you can easily convert MOV files to MP4 using an online application. In this case we will use CloudConvert, a free online service designed to handle a wide range of file formats with little or no difficulty.
It’s been our favorite pick for years, but since you have to upload your video files to a remote server, keep in mind that the company that converts your video may have access to it. We doubt that anything will come out of there, but if you choose to use this service, keep that in mind. You have to consider what kind of videos you are going to convert here.
Another quality option is OnlineConvert.
Paso 1: navigate to the site CloudConvert website and click the button Select Filenear the top of the page. Then select the MOV file you want to convert and click To open in the lower right corner of the pop-up window.
Paso 2: On the next page, select MP4 from the list of output options.
Paso 3: made your selection, click the button Turn into On the right side. The process may take some time, depending on the size of the file, but once done, select the green button Descargar near the top of the page. Then choose a location for the resulting video, select Keep and enjoy your new MP4.
