Posadas will join the National Triple Viral and Polio Vaccination Campaign

The meeting took place in the “Emilio Gottschalk” Kindergarten and the municipal health teams participated, who will be in charge of implementing this strategy aimed at strengthening the immune response in the city’s children. Speakers from the Public Health Immunizations area spoke: Lic. Roberto Lima; Lic. Luis Coent and Lic. Estela Dico Quevedo.

Posadas will join the National Triple Viral and Polio Vaccination campaign. These doses are additional, regardless of the schedule, to prevent the reintroduction of these diseases that can cause severe cases or permanent disability. In other words, the immunization will be aimed at the age group, regardless of whether they have already received these vaccines before. It is worth clarifying that they do not require a medical order.

In Argentina, measles, rubella and poliomyelitis are diseases that have been eliminated. This means that they no longer circulate in the country. However, they still cause outbreaks in other parts of the world.

With the additional dose of these vaccines, children can be given greater protection and prevent these diseases from resurfacing in the country. Vaccination is the only strategy to sustain the elimination of measles, rubella, congenital rubella syndrome, and poliomyelitis; and to control mumps.

This campaign is an opportunity to strengthen the protection of the entire population against these diseases. Children older than 13 months, adolescents and people born after 1965 must prove two doses.
