Coronavirus in Chaco: "Those who are hospitalized and seriously ill are people who are not vaccinated"

Coronavirus covid hospital beds

Gustavo Giusiano, independent researcher at Conicet and head of the Mycology Department of the Institute of Regional Medicine of the National University of the Northeast (UNNE), gave a television interview where he detailed that, in the province, those hospitalized for coronavirus are people who do not know vaccinated.

“If we analyze the cases and hospitalizations that exist now and the deaths in recent times, they are of people who have not been vaccinated,” he said in dialogue with Chaco TV.

In that sense, the professional said that the constant drop in cases “is a reflection of the vaccination that is seen throughout the country.” So he pointed out that those who do not want to be inoculated “not only are at risk, but also put those who live with them at risk.”

In addition, Guisiano, stressed that Argentina is “lucky” that there is still no community circulation of the Delta variant, which caused serious damage in other countries, for which he expressed: “Hopefully this gives us the opportunity to vaccinate the largest number of the population with the two doses.”

Finally, the doctor commented that “in other countries they have had a second wave of cases, but not hospitalizations or deaths,” due to the increase in vaccination against the coronavirus.
