Frasier revival is still being kicked off, says Kelsey Grammer

Kelsey Grammer continues to support the potential renewal of Frasier, with the actor providing a somewhat vague but nonetheless promising update on the project. While it’s been previously reported that the relaunch / reboot is indeed a trial at Paramount +, Grammer’s insight seems a little less confident, with the Cheers and Frasier star revealing that they are still ‘going around’.

“We are turning around. We have some ideas and we are quite happy with the current situation. We’re not sure everyone is coming back, but I know there’s a third act for Frasier. Of course, there is still a lot to explore.

Aside from revealing that the studio (and presumably themselves) are “quite happy” with the idea that was pitched for Frasier’s long-awaited third act, Grammer still doesn’t know who, if any, of the cast. original will return to his side. . Previously, Grammer revealed a much more promising update in terms of the potential return of his co-stars by saying, “We’re doing our best to woo all the cast and we’ve got a few things on our minds there and I think that it looks pretty good! Specifically, Grammer has announced the return of Bebe Neuwirth’s fan favorite character, Lilith Sternin, Frasier’s impassive ex-wife expert. “I’m sure if Bebe is going to honor us with her presence, we would like her to do some shows, I’m sure,” the actor said. Created as a spin-off of the hugely popular NBC sitcom, Cheers, Frasier Continues the story of psychiatrist Frasier Crane as he returns to his hometown of Seattle and begins to build a new life as a radio show host. Much of the charm of the series comes from the relationship between Frasier and his brother Niles, played by fellow psychiatrist David Hyde Pierce, as well as his father Martin, played by retired police officer John Mahoney. Frasier ended with Season 11 in 2004, with the character leaving for Chicago in hopes of reuniting with Charlotte, the woman he fell in love with. During his run, Frasier has been critically acclaimed, with the show itself and the cast winning thirty-seven Primetime Emmy Awards and winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for five consecutive years.

While not much has been revealed about what “ideas” have been suggested for continuing Frasier Crane’s adventures, Kelsey Grammer has since said the swashbuckling psychiatrist will find some luck in the finance department. “He thinks he’s going to go and do one thing, and of course his life takes him in another direction,” Grammer said. “And he ends up rich beyond his dreams. ”

Grammer also revealed that the recovery will tackle the death of Frasier star John Mahoney, who played the cantankerous but endearing father of the main characters, Martin, with such poise that he quickly became a favorite. “We intend to handle this in the first episode,” Grammer explained.

The Frasier Revival does not yet have a release date and is not expected to begin until 2022.
