A true tragedy took place on Friday afternoon in La Pampa, on National Route 188, about 6 kilometers west of the entrance to the town of Adolfo Van Praet, near Realicó. A head-on collision between two vehicles left the death of at least 6 people: 4 of them adults and two minors.
According to local media, and according to information provided by the Police, both vehicles are from Mendoza.
The cars involved were a Toyota Corolla, where 4 people were travelling, and a Citroën C3. Of the 5 occupants of the last car, 4 of the victims remained inside the passenger compartment, which was overturned after the impact, on its left side, while a creature was found lifeless among the grasslands after being fired from it.
Local media reports that the passengers of the Toyota were rescued by medical personnel and Volunteer Firefighters in the area, and then rushed to the Realicó hospital, where one of the victims, a child, would have lost his life in the transfer.
The authorities detailed that the Toyota was heading from west to east, while the Citroën was moving in the opposite direction. But for unknown reasons, both shots hit head-on.
For several hours, Route 188 was completely cut off from both roads, so that scientific personnel could work on the site.
“Firefighters, policemen and several ambulances worked at the place where the impact occurred,” reports El Diario, from La Pampa.
Firefighters and personnel from the General Pico Prosecutor’s Office were present at the scene. The skills of the Scientific Research Agency (AIC) are awaited to establish the causes of the tragic accident.
