Faced with exhalations from the Popocatépetl volcano, they foresee ash fall in 14 municipalities of the CDMX

Due to the constant exhalations of the Popocatepetl volcano, the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) of Mexico City warned that it is expected ash fall on 14 mayors.

According to the capital dependency, in the Álvaro Obregón, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, Cuajimalpa, Iztapalapa, Iztacalco, Magdalena Contreras, Miguel Hidalgo, Milpa Alta, Tláhuac, Tlalpan, Venustiano Carranza and Xochimilco demarcations, ashfall is forecast in the course of the night this Tuesday.

The only municipalities outside this notice are the municipalities of Azcapotzalco and Gustavo A. Madero.

For the moment, the SGIRPC highlighted that the Volcanic Warning Traffic Light is currently in the Phase 2, so they urged the population to stay informed.

Meanwhile, they asked people to cover their nose and mouth, clean their eyes and throat with plain water, and wear frame lenses instead of contact lenses, as these can cause eye irritation.
