Almost thirty years ago, Roxy Music frontman Bryan Ferry released his eighth solo album, Taxi. For the anniversary, the record is now being released in a limited new edition. The new CD and vinyl versions will be available to buy from November 25th.
Taxi comes in a limited edition Japanese-style case and new artwork personally selected by Bryan Ferry. The record is available on vinyl as a yellow colored LP.
Brian Ferry released his last solo album, Bitter-Sweet, in 2018. Roxy Music are also celebrating an anniversary in 2022: The band turned 50 and to celebrate the anniversary they got together for a big reunion tour of North America and Great Britain.
“Taxi” was originally released in March 1993. Aside from the final track “Because You’re Mine,” it’s a covers album, with Ferry reimagining Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put A Spell On You” and Lou Reed’s “All Tomorrow’s Parties.” . The album was produced by Bryan Ferry and British guitarist Robin Trower.
