Willow Smith’s ‘Letter To Tupac’ Asking Him To Make Jada Happy Goes Viral Again

Willow Smith didn’t get to meet Tupac, which makes it pretty weird

days after Will Smith hit a slap in the face Chris Rocka letter written to Tupac Shakur per Willow Smith resurfaced on the web. For reference, Jada Pinkett Smith was very close to the late rapper, and many thought they might have dated at some point. Will has also come forward before and said he felt tortured by the bond Jada and Tupac shared.

The letter reads: “I know you are alive somewhere that I think my mother really misses you. can you please come back [?] You can come back so Mom and I can be happy! I wish you were here… I really did.” The letter was written in 2011, when Willow was just 11 years old.

The letter resurfaced after the spotlight was thrown on Will Smith and Jada’s wedding after Will slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars on March 27. The letter, which was allegedly written by Willow, claims she knows he’s “alive somewhere” and asks him to “come back so Mom and I can be happy.”

The letter came to light after internet personality Kevin Samuels highlighted it. It was then shared in a TikTok video and has been viewed over 2.6 million times online. The letter has sparked debate online and many question its authenticity. “If this letter was really written by Willow, it seems that Jada is still mourning Shakur, and she didn’t keep it much of a secret if her children knew. But what does that say about Pinkett and Will’s relationship if true?” asked the young man.

The letter was reportedly added to Instagram in 2012, according to Jorge Rivas of ColorLines. Willow, who was 11 at the time, reportedly added a photo of the letter to her Instagram in August 2012 saying she wrote it “years” ago, but the post has since been deleted.

In full, the letter read: “Dear Tupac, I know you are alive somewhere. I think my mom really misses you. Can you please come back? You can come back so Mom and I can be happy! I wish you were here… I really do! Love, Willo.”

Jada says she was inseparable from Tupac from the day they met as teenagers, though she has always insisted they were just good friends and never dated. During a 2018 episode of Red Table Talk, she called his death a “big loss in my life”. During that same episode, Jada calls him an icon while Willow says, “In the minds of the next generation, he’s a god.”
