An animated version of Married with Children aka An Awfully Nice Family is planned. The Bundy leads will also be re-involved. It’s not the first attempt at a comeback though…

It’s time once again for revival plans for cult sitcom Married with Children aka “A horrible nice family“. Rumors and reports surface here every year. In 2014, for example, a spin-off starring Bud Bundy (David Faustino) was in development. There the Bundy scion should move back to his parents’ house when they won the lottery and moved to Las Vegas. However, this project did not progress very far.

This time an animated series is to be tried, like deadline reports. Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and David Faustino would all be involved again, likely as speakers. However, a broadcaster or streamer has apparently not yet struck. Alex Carter (Family Guy) is writing the script and will serve as showrunner if anything comes of it.

The original sitcom ran for eleven seasons on FOX from 1987 to 1997 and was one of the first major series successes of the then new network competitor for ABC, CBS and NBC. SonyTV is the production company of the comedy classic.

The animated revival has been in the works for about a year now. Some well-known elements of the original should be built in, such as the well-known title song “Love and Marriage‘ by Frank Sinatra.

Sony has also already released an animated version of the sitcom “good times“ housed at Netflix.

In fact, there was once a spin-off. It was called “Top of the heap‘ and it starred Matt LeBlanc (Friends) for a few episodes in 1991.

Finally, here is the intro to the series “Married with Children“:
