Jay-Z and DJ Khaled have crossed the music barrier and have one of rap’s strongest friendships
On Thursday (21), the DJ Khaled took to Instagram with clips of him with Jay-Z at his home in Miami. Hov puffed on a cigar while Khaled played the album for him, and it sounded like he was really enjoying what he was listening to. “They don’t believe us, HOV BELIEVED. And when HOV believes, more HISTORY is made. #GODDID”, Khaled captioned your post.
“Thank you my brother for everything you do for us!! HOV BELIEVED!! ALBUM ALMOST READY!!!!!!!!!!! @wethebestmusic @rocnation.” DJ Khaled and JAY-Z collaborated several times over the years, including “We Got the Keys”, “They Don’t Love You No More” and “Sorry Not Sorry”.
A person who has not yet entered the studio with Hov, however, is A Boogie wit the Hoodie. The Bronx native saw the Miami connection between Khaled and Hov and put their dreams of collaboration in the air. “Someone tell Hov I need him on my album,” he wrote in an Instagram story. Fans who want new music from JAY-Z may have to rely on their guest features for now.
During a recent interview with Kevin Hartthe tycoon of Roc Nation revealed that he has no plans to make a new album at the moment, although he has made it clear that he is not retiring yet.
“I’m not actively making music or making an album or having plans to make an album, but I never want to say I’m retired,” he said. “It’s a gift, so who am I to turn it off? And it may have a different form or interpretation. Maybe it’s not an album, maybe it is. I have no idea, but I’ll leave it open.”
God Did, the 13th studio album by DJ Khaledwill be released later this year and will likely feature a typically star-studded supporting cast. DrakeKanye WestFutureLil Baby and 21 Savage are among the many big names he’s hit the studio with in recent months.
