For some reason, Obi-Wan gives Tala’s holster to Leia. As a reminder, Indira Varma’s Tala sacrificed herself to allow Obi-Wan and Leia to escape in episode 5.

4) Darth Vader must “face it alone”

As part of an upcoming duel against Obi-Wan KenobiDarth Vader states: “Prepare my ship, I will face it alone”. This phrase echoes Vader shooting Kenobi before the Battle of the Death Star in A new hope. The original quote was: “Escape is not his plan. I must face him…alone”.

5) a new duel

We discover a third duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader after their first duel in Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sithand their second duel in episode 3 of Obi-Wan Kenobi. This time, Obi-Wan dominates Darth Vader after finding hope and strength in the two Skywalker children, and pelts the Sith Lord with stones.

Just before the duel we were talking about aboveObi-Wan Kenobi adopts his famous pose that we have seen in films and in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

7) THE ORIGINS OF DARK VADOR’S SCAR

Darth Vader’s Helmet is nicked and damaged by Obi-Wan. However, when Darth Vader opens his mask at the end of Star Wars, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, we can see a scar on his head. We now know he’s got her from Obi-Wan.

8) OBI-WAN LEAVES DARK VADER BEHIND BUT DOES NOT KILL HIM

Obi-Wan apologizes with Darth Vader and then leaves him after the Sith Lord proclaims that Anakin Skywalker is dead, and telling him that it was not Obi-Wan who killed Anakin, but Darth Vader himself. Obi-Wan then realizes the meaning of these words by stating: “So my friend is really dead”. An extremely moving scene.

9) a very well-found easter egg for the continuity of the work

Star Wars never really explained why the Obi-Wan Kenobi played by Alec Guinness told luke skywalker that his father had been killed by Darth Vader, but the Obi-Wan Kenobi series helpfully fills that gap. Since Vader admits that he was the one who really killed Anakin Skywalker, we understand better why Obi-Wan said that to Luke.

10) REVA NEARLY KILLED LUKE SKYWALKER BUT DIDN’T

Reva, after chasing Luke, ultimately cannot bring himself to kill him. We will not see her again, thereafter, before the end of the series. For some fans, the next time we hear from her will be in-game Jedi: Survivorwhich will be released in 2023.

Episode 6 ofObi-Wan Kenobi makes excellent use of classic John Williams compositions, including the Imperial March and the Force theme at key points. The Imperial March is played shortly after Vader speaks with Palpatine, while the Force theme can be heard during the farewell with Leia, and the last shot in the series.

13) LEIA’S LOOK reminds us of the COMICS LOOK

Leia’s costume at the end of the episode is reminiscent of recent Marvel comics canon.

14) Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6 Prepares Leia’s Message

Episode 6 ofObi-Wan Kenobi helps explain why Princess Leia sends a message asking for Obi-Wan’s help in A new hope. Obi-Wan indeed promises to return if Leia has, one day, need the help of a “tired old man”. In about 9 years, that’s exactly what she’ll be doing.

15) OBI-WAN IS WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES SEEN IN A NEW HOPE

The glasses he wears, moreover, come from his costume in the comics.

16) We finally got a “hello you”

It’s been six episodes that we’ve been waiting for Obi-Wan finally speaks his iconic line “Hello there”, and it’s only fitting that he utters it when he first meets Luke Skywalker, claiming “Hello you !” in VF.

17) QUI-GON JINN, finally!

Throughout the series, Obi-Wan called his deceased master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and he finally appears as a Force ghost.
