Dhis car has two faces. On the one hand, it belongs to the popularly maligned type of off-road vehicle, or SUV, on the other hand, it is a salvific electric car. How did it say the other day in a comedy show when a time traveler from the year 2037 was asked what it looks like in Germany? “Annalena has been Chancellor as long as Angela, and the Greens all drive electric SUVs.” It probably doesn’t quite turn out that way, but as of today, the electric car is likely to play a much more important role in 16 years than in 2021, and new combustion cars are anyway forbidden.
And today? Well, the Skoda Enyaq iV 80, which shares the platform with the VW ID.3 and ID.4, has an appealing exterior with its SUV look. It offers a lot of space and shows where the road can lead. With a length of 4.65 meters, it sits very comfortably at the front and back, a family of four can get along well with it, as almost 600 liters of cargo fit in the large trunk. The sturdy cover is a pleasure, under the base plate there are compartments for small items and the charging cables, which have to be neatly rolled up. Otherwise they won’t fit in. Of course, the back seat can be folded down asymmetrically, but there is no more variability. At least there is still a small hatch so that four of you can be out and about, including a 1.60 meter long, folded large parasol. It should be 20 centimeters more, but the loading area rises and is not flat. But the tailgate opens electrically and swings up nicely.
