Drama almost over: Simmons will return to Philadelphia after all

Ben Simmons, 25, has not yet resumed training with the Philadelphia 76ers. But that could happen soon.

For weeks it looked like Ben Simmons wouldn’t be returning to Philadelphia, at least in the 76ers jersey. Now, according to information from US experts, a U-turn is looming.

Apparently, Sixers executives have been working “around the clock” with Simmons’ agent Rich Paul on a solution for the past few days. And that does not – as long suspected – provide for a trade by the weak point guard, but a return to Philly. A trade, it is said, is still not off the table.

After last year’s play-off against Atlanta, the criticism of Simmons’ lack of courage in the throwing game had reached new heights. The 25-year-old Australian, who also reacted self-critically, felt abandoned by those responsible for coach Doc Rivers, who had not skimp on criticism.

Most recently, the Sixers had transferred $ 8.25 million of the strike professional’s salary to an escrow account as a fine.
