Drake has what it takes to take the lead at Biilboard again next week
Certified Lover Boy may not have been Drake’s most well-received album in years, but that doesn’t mean the Canadian rapper hasn’t yet dominated the charts. After debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200, the album spent a few weeks at #1 before being dethroned by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Taylor Swift in consecutive weeks.
However, it looks like Drake will return to the throne with another week at the top, outstripping sales of Don Toliver’s second album Life Of A DON. As of the latest sales projections for next week, Don Toliver is set to debut at #2 on the charts with 65,000 album equivalent units moved from his second album. Unfortunately, it won’t start at #1 because that spot is reserved for Drake, who will spend a fourth non-consecutive week at the top with 97,000 album units moved.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Meek Mill and Olivia Rodrigo are currently in a tight battle for #3, #4 and #5. In other chart news, Kanye West is expected to slip to No. 9 with DONDA, and Doja Cat and Lil Nas X are ahead of him with their respective recent albums.
In related news, Anitta and Drake exchanged “unfolow” on Instagram. It seems that the musically promising friendship between Drake and Anitta has come to an end or is going through a difficult time. Attentive fans have noticed that Anitta and Drake are no longer following each other on Instagram. The mutual “unfollow” began with Drake not following the Brazilian, who in turn reciprocated the gesture.
The two began a closer relationship in 2018, when Drake came to Brazil to perform at Rock in Rio. At the time, Anitta even opened her house for a private party for the international rap star and it was precisely at this time that the artists started to follow. Drake met Kevin O Chris after Anitta’s referral and the singer even called a rapper live during her show on Multishow.
