Critic’s Choice Awards and the Bafta Awards will be delivered on the same day

After postponing their gala on January 9 due to the omicron variant, the Critic’s Choice Awards announced that they will be held in Los Angeles on March 13, the same day as the Bafta Awards of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The Critic’s Choice Association (CCA) detailed in a statement the new date of its awards, which, initially, aspired to take over from the boycotted Golden Globes as the ceremony in charge of uncorking the Hollywood awards season.

However, with the new date of March 13, Critic’s Choice Awards will be held just two weeks before the Oscars. These will take place on March 27 also in Los Angeles.

The Golden Globes Yes, they were held on January 9. But they did it in a very lackluster way with a private, closed-door event that was not televised, that did not have a red carpet or figures from film and television.

The new date of Critic’s Choice Awards will coincide with the British Baftas, which may cause many stars to choose between attending one gala or another.

Belfast of Kenneth Branagh and the new West Side Story by Steven Spielberg are listed as the films with the most nominations for the Critic’s Choice Awards with eleven nominations per head.
