COVID keeps pace in Mexico; adds another 44 thousand new cases

The wave of COVID-19 infections gives Mexico no respite because this Friday it registered a new maximum number of cases for one day so far in the pandemic with 44,293, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.

The previous mark had been registered last Wednesday when the country added 44 thousand 187 cases in one day. With the figure reported this Friday, It is the fourth time in almost a week that a new peak has been touched, in the midst of a wave of infections attributed by specialists to the omicron variant that also increases infections throughout the world.

In total and so far, Mexico has officially registered 4 million 302 thousand 069 cases of COVID since it started in the country the spread of the disease.

As for deaths, the Federal Ministry of Health reported 195 more people who died from the respiratory disease. As of this Friday, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Mexico amounts to 301,107 deaths.
