The Ministry of Public Health of the Province advances with the Chamber of Pharmacies of Corrientes in the elaboration of an agreement for the implementation of the Covid-19 self-test. It is a new diagnostic strategy that is on the way to be used in Argentina.
In this framework, a meeting was held today chaired by the Undersecretary of Public Health, Luis Pérez, together with executives from the central level and members of the Chamber of Pharmacies of the province.
“We are advancing in the elaboration of an agreement that includes both the legal and the operative part, so that when the tests are available we can offer a further service to the community,” said the general director of Epidemiology, Angelina Bobadilla.
“Once the tests enter the country, the drugstores would be willing to buy and from there they could buy the pharmacies,” he added.
He also explained that “from the Ministry we work on the flow of information, in an organized circuit, where the person will be able to upload their test through a QR system and from the registration of each positive there will be direct communication and the protocol”,
It is worth mentioning that the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) approved the individual use of four self-assessment tests based on the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Abbott, Roche, Vyam Group and Wiener laboratories for sale exclusively in pharmacies.
The approved products are for diagnostic guidance and users must collect the sample themselves based on the manufacturers instructions. As of this authorization, the importation will begin, for which a period of time will be required for them to be available in the pharmacy for sale.
