Giessen and veteran Bryant will go their separate ways in the future. The club and players have agreed to terminate the contract immediately, as the Hessians announced on Thursday. The 2.11 meter center will compete for league rivals Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels and will be used there on Friday evening. The 34-year-old Bryant has played for the Giessen 46ers since 2017 with a brief interruption and had previously received the award as the most valuable player in the league in two Bundesliga seasons (2011/12 and 2012/13).
“Unfortunately, it is sometimes the case that the planned and hoped for does not happen and cannot be implemented. Both John and we have recognized that the current situation is not satisfactory for both sides and therefore we mutually decide on a termination agreement,” said Giessen’s managing director and sports director Sebastian Schmidt. “The short operating times last in Giessen were no longer satisfactory for me personally,” commented Bryant. He is now looking forward to his new team and a new task.
On the website of the MBC Bryant is quoted as follows: “The short playing times last time in Giessen were no longer satisfactory for me personally. When the MBC was looking for a new player after the failure of Johannes Richter, I didn’t have to hesitate long. After a training session and a night in Weißenfels, I started my way to the away game in Hamburg with the team. I’m looking forward to my new team and my new job with the Wolves. I will bring my strengths so that we can get here in this one Get the most out of the season. ”
