At the top of the table, everything stays the same on matchday 10 of the Middle Rhine League. Düren and Hennef march in front. Frechen and Freialdenhoven lose touch with the top and SV Breinig just barely missed the first meters.
4-0: Both 1. FC Düren and FC Hennef pushed the ball over the line four times last weekend.
Thanks to a confident 4-0 home win against the second guard of Fortuna Köln, FC Düren remains at the top of the Middle Rhine League. In contrast to the previous week in the 2-2 draw against VfL Vichttal, this time the Primus acted like a top team for over 90 minutes and didn’t let anything burn. Right from the start, determining the game and with a lot of possession, 1. FCD nailed Cologne to their own penalty area. Nevertheless, it took a while for the Fortuna’s defensive bulwark to reveal the first gaps. In the 33rd minute, however, the time had come. Brasnic got to the ball and sunk it in the guest box. With the half-time whistle, the second goal fell for 1. FCD. Sobiech screwed himself the highest in a corner and gave his team the deserved 2-0 break lead (45 + 3). Another Antoski corner brought the preliminary decision after the break. This time the ball landed at Pütz, who increased it to 3-0 (56th). Shortly before the end, the double assists Antoski was allowed to enter himself in the list of goalscorers and marked the 4-0 final score. While 1. FC Düren continues to look unbeaten from the top of the Middle Rhine League after their eighth win of the season in their tenth game, the worries at Fortuna Köln II are getting bigger and bigger. Micha Skorzenski’s team has been waiting for a threesome for five games and remains in 15th place.
However, 1. FC Düren still cannot rest at the top of the table. As in the past few weeks, FC Hennef remains close on the heels of the Primus. At SV Deutz, Sascha Glatzel’s team won 4-0 without any problems and lived up to their reputation as “number one pursuer”. FCH Mohamed Aladin Dahas, who already scored three times during the week in a 4-1 win against VfL Alfter, was on the road to success. After fine preparatory work by Okoroafor, Dahas was just right in the center and finished 1-0 (10th). After a little more than half an hour, it was Okoroafor himself who increased to 2-0 (32nd). The most conspicuous man in the initial phase came completely free to the ball in front of the opponent’s housing and heaved it into the short corner. Shortly after the break, the FCH tightened the loop and made the preliminary decision in the 49th minute in the person of Iohara. The end of the game was set by Kai Schuster, who left his opponent standing with a feint and finished sharply into the long corner of the goal. All in all, a well-deserved victory for FC Hennef, which continues to rank second on points with 1. FC Düren. After seven games without a win, SV Deutz is in 14th place with eight points.
Friesdorfer Joker prevent Breinig’s first point win
SV Breinig Breinigerberg almost got the first point, but only almost. Against FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf, the bottom of the table was 2-0 in the lead for a long time. With two penalties, Friesdorf turned the tide again and turned the game around in the second round. In the initial phase, however, the spectators at the Breinig sports complex were initially presented with the expected image, the guests exerted a lot of pressure on the domestic defensive and made it seem as if they wanted to pick up exactly where they left off in the last few weeks – FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf has been unbeaten in five games. Friesdorfs Kochan had the best chance of the early stages, who knocked the ball against the crossbar from around 16 meters (10th). Somewhat surprisingly, the home side took the lead a little later. Kariem Emara used a fatal back pass in the blue and white back line and pushed confidently into the right corner (26th). Shortly before the break, it got even thicker for the guests. A half-field free kick landed precisely on the skull of Statovci, who nodded off to make it 2-0 without any problems. BW coach Thomas Huhn brought three fresh workers for the break, and their substitution paid off immediately afterwards. Just on the pitch, Scholz fooled almost the entire Breiniger back team in the opposing penalty area and could only be stopped by a foul. Bringer confidently sank the penalty kick into the goal (52nd). Only seven minutes later, the home side’s lead was finally over. The also freshly substituted Kivoma set to 2: 2 (59th). Shortly before the end, the referee pointed to the point again after an FC player was knocked off his feet despite a four-on-one situation. The second penalty of the game sank again Bringer in the home side’s box to make the decisive 3-2. Thus, the FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf continues its series and is now unbeaten for six games. Nevertheless, the Friesdorfer are still on the border to the non-relegation places in 13th place. For the pointless SV Breinig, however, it is getting darker at the bottom of the table. The distance to the saving bank is already 13 points.
Behind the top duo Düren and Hennef, the closest rivals Frechen and Freialdenhoven have lost direct contact. The SpVgg Frechen 20 did not get past a 0-0 at FC Pesch. Borussia Freialdenhoven gambled away a 1-0 break lead and parted ways with Viktoria Glesch-Paffendorf 1: 1. The gap to the top of the table for the third and fourth placed grows to four points.
In the middle of the table, VfL Alfter beat FC Hürth 3-2, Arnoldsweiler won a sovereign 2-0 win against VfL Vichttal and Siegburger SV secured three points with a 1-0 win against relegation-threatened SV Eilendorf. Serious relegation worries should now also prevail at Spvg Wesseling-Urfeld. The Spvg were defeated by Bergisch Gladbach09 in front of their home crowd with 0: 3 and are with three points on the penultimate place in the table. The distance to the saving bank is already ten points.
